Good To Know

We bought tickets for here and the 3D ride next door for a slight discount. You walk up a ramp and wait for a creepy looking man to let you through into the lift. This small tram then takes you up a slight slope (can be seen from outside) before the door opens and another creepy man tells you to stand in a line behind each other holding onto a shoulder, arm, bagstrap etc and not to let go or run away screaming: good advice as you will see on entering! The place is total blackness with an occasional light to show up gruesome wax figures in Windows, on walls etc. You walk round small unlit corridors having around 3 people jump at you or splash you with water (to resemble gruesome autopsy!). You encounter strings hanging from ceilings and "bodies" as well as disembodied "heads". There is one section which is quite claustrophobic as you enter a corridor wrapped with material and it seems to close around you as you walk through; another section has 3 or 4 bits of floor which moves from side to side. There is also a "time tunnel" where you walk across a bridge and lights spin around making it seem like you are spinning. Near the end a zombie like person shuffles out of a door and comes towards you whereupon the 4 women who had joined me and my husband broke ranks and ran screaming into the lift!! As you go down the lift doors open at the bottom for one last shock. Superb fun, nothing can harm you, it's all level ground with very slight gradients but all in total darkness. You can use a torch or they will sell you a fibre optic light for $2. Really funny stumbling about in the dark, with cheesy wax figures, not knowing where something will "boo" at you or jets of steam will blow. Hilarious but not for those of nervous disposition, small children or on crutches/ wheelchairs (inaccessible).
When bundling Ripleys diff attractions when buying tickets was deff worth it, No strobe lights brings the family together
We usually visit at LEAST one Ripley's attraction and this time we chose the Haunted Adventure. It was right across the street from the Sky Lift where we had just visited, so on an adrenaline high, we headed on over. The employees are super nice and helpful. We purchased a little light stick thingie to help see in the "darkest" of spots. The tickets weren't terrible considering we're in a tourist area. As typical with Ripley's, you can purchase tickets for additional attractions and save $ on combo tickets. The scares in this building were awesome. Some clever spooks and scares and great special FX and costumed employees. We thought we would be trapped in here forever when I couldn't find the exit door but we figured it out. A lot of the walkthrough spots were definitely scary as we weren't sure what to expect next. I would NOT bring a small child to this attraction. The loud jump-scares and some of the walkthrough areas would be difficult to navigate and there's definitely some inappropriate gory stuff. I believe there's a "this tall to ride" sign. This isn't a haunted house where you just walk through and people scare you. Lots more to it! We had a good time and screamed most of the way through. :D
It was like most haunted houses. You have to keep your hand on the person in front of you at all times. Wish it had more live people and less fake dummy's but overall it was good.
